Most of you may know that I play the immensely popular World of Warcraft. Well, the guild I’m in — All Together Now — is in the race for Realm First Level 25 guild on the Garrosh-US realm. This is a really big deal and great for bragging rights. I will not disclose exactly where we are (as to not tip off the competition), but I will say this: We are making the final push for Level 25 and are in the lead. Keep up the good work, fellow guildies, and I will see you tonight and hopefully help push us over the edge!
In which I change blogging topics.
I’m sick of blogging about politics. There is just too much vitriol out there. I will say this right now: I have not nor will I ever talk bad about anyone personally — especially the leaders of our land. Sure, I have talked about how much I disagree with their policies and the direction they’re taking this country. I still disagree with the Obama Administration — and that’s to be expected. I’m a conservative that believes in limited government and the free-market system. I love capitalism; I love seeing small business owners - and even big business owners — succeed and become rich. More often than not, they have worked their butts off for that accomplishment. And they take that money they make and turn right around and put it back into the economy.
But I think it’s time that take a break from publicly talking about the political scene. I will still talk about the oil spill and how it’s affecting my local area. It’s drastic and devastating, and it saddens and upsets me. We have endured so much as a region in the past five years, and it seems the hits just come right on coming. I’m wondering how much more we can take.
But on a lighter note, I want to start blogging about my hobby — my only hobby — gaming. I feel that I can contribute more to that topic than I can to politics. So, let it begin.
Quick Update — Currently in Northrend
I know it’s been a full 3 weeks since I’ve last posted. I have been playing World of Warcraft — a lot. I have been having a wonderful time playing the game; I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a game as much as I have this one.
But things are about to change in-game that I think have been coming for quite a while for me personally. I will be leaving the guild I’m in tonight. They just aren’t the type of people that I want to be associated with. I’ve been tolerating them for way too long, I think.
Also, I’ll be looking into switching from a Pacific Time Zone server to a Central Time Zone (or maybe even Eastern) server, since I live in the Central Time Zone. However, I do not want to pay $25, maybe even $50, just to change my characters over. So I think I’ll be starting a new character. So the pace in which I’ve been playing the game is about to slow down dramatically.
I also have some screenshots that I’ll be uploading this weekend from the game. So, until then, adieu!
Wrath of the Lich King released today — review forthcoming
Today — Thursday, November 13, 2008 — has been a much-anticipated date for many World of Warcraft fans. Why? Because the new expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, went on sale today.
I’m sure many people were in line well before midnight this morning to get the game — I just wasn’t one of them. I like the game very much, and I play it quite often. I’m just not so hardcore that I would stand in line for 48 hours to get the game. I’ll be able to get it later.
I won’t buy it tonight, but I will purchase it tomorrow and will probably dedicate quite a bit of time over the weekend to it. I’ll be sure to take screenshots of various areas within the game, and I’ll write a review of my first impressions and post it tomorrow (probably late afternoon). I’m sure it’ll make good weekend reading for those of you who enjoy playing within the world of Azeroth.
And if you haven’t ever ventured into the WoW world, maybe this expansion will entice you enough to see what all the fuss is about. That’s what The Burning Crusade did for me. And now, I’m hooked.
Back to the basics of blogging

I’m going to do it. I’m going to get back on the blog bandwagon. The past few months I have taken somewhat of a sabbatical from blogging. I haven’t written a new blog post since June until the other day when I started EricLee.us. My previous blog, A Pound of Thoughts, has taken a lot of neglect lately. So if I haven’t been blogging, then just what the heck have I been doing?
Well, I ventured into the world of World of Warcraft. I let it “suck me in”. And, like other things I’ve tried, I got so involved with it that I ended up burning out on it.
