Comment Policy

I have been debating about adding this, but I think that it’s best to set some ground rules about commenting.

1.  Comments are welcome and encouraged!  There’s no way for me to know if a post that I write impacts you (positively or negatively) unless you comment.  Please voice your opinion.  If you’re not sure whether to comment or not, then go ahead and comment.  If you’ve crossed some kind of line, don’t worry.  I’ll email you and let you know.

2.  Comments should add value.  If a comment is clearly spam, I will delete it.  No ifs, ands, or buts.  Most comment spam is caught automatically, but a few slip through from time to time.

4.  First-time posters are held for moderation.  This is a way that I ensure that you’re not a troll or flamer.  After I approve your first comment, your following comments will show up automatically.

3.  Links should be related to the post topic.  Also, the spam software, Akismet, automatically catches posts with 2 more links to be held for moderation.  If you do not see your post immediately, that is usually what has happened.  If it doesn’t appear after 12 hours, e-mail me and I’ll look into it.  Usually that just means that I haven’t got around to approving comments.

4.  Be polite and treat others with respect.  I can’t stand “flamers” and “trolls”, or others that try to piss people off or intentionally insult others.  Also, if you use curse words, they will be edited or deleted.  If you curse often in your comments, I will have no choice but to delete your comment.  Please try and keep your comments “family-friendly”.

Thanks, and comment away!
