The Audacity of Harangue

La-Raza-758842

That’s exactly what it was yesterday and today with “President” Obama and “President” Felipe Calderon of Mexico, regarding illegal immigration and the Arizona anti–illegal immigration law.  (That’s what it is, folks — NOT anti-immigration.)

Obama said this:  “We’re examining any implications especially for civil rights because in the United States of America, no law abiding person — be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico — should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like.”

And Calderon said this:  “We are and will continue to be respectful of the internal policies of the United States and its legitimate right to establish, in accordance to its Constitution, whatever laws it approves,” he said, “But we will retain our firm rejection to criminalized migration so that people that work and provide things to this nation would be treated as criminals.”

Criminalized migrationCRIMINALIZED MIGRATION????  It’s ILLEGAL to come into this country without the proper procedure and papers.  HEY OBAMA — I have a news flash for you:  A person, if they’re coming into this country illegally, is NOT a law-abiding person!!  This law passed by Arizona, S.B. 1070, re-affirms what is in our federal law, and does NOT discriminate NOR encourage racial profiling.  It is quite apparent that no one that has come out criticizing this law (i.e. Eric Holder, Janet Napolitano, Obama, Calderon, etc.) has actually read said law.  Do yourself a favor before making an ass out of yourself:  READ THE $@%& LAW!!

I stand by Arizona, and from now on I will buy everything I can that is made there.  I will support this state wholeheartedly, and I am hopeful that my own state and other states will follow suit soon.  As per the United States Constitution, “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States”.  Also, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”  The right to secure the border of the State is not prohibited by the Constitution.

Oh, and another thing:  The AUDACITY of our so-called President, allowing nothing but a glorified drug dealer to address OUR Congress, is despicable. S.B. 1070 is nothing but a re-statement of the FEDERAL LAW, which Obama and his predecessors have FAILED to uphold, giving the Arizona law enforcement the ability to ENFORCE the law. I’m so sick and tired of our topsy-turvy government. Obama’s speech with Calderon yesterday was seditious, and he ought to be thrown out on his..err, ears. It’s high time Obama be impeached for his crimes against the United States.

Some definitions for you:

Harangue:  a scolding or a long or intense verbal attack; diatribe.

Illegal:  forbidden by law or statute.

Impeachment:  Impeachment, in the U.S. and Great Britain, proceeding by a legislature for the removal from office of a public official charged with misconduct in office. Impeachment comprises both the act of formulating the accusation and the resulting trial of the charges; it is frequently but erroneously taken to mean only the removal from office of an accused public official. An impeachment trial may result in either an acquittal or in a verdict of guilty. In the latter case the impeached official is removed from office; if the charges warrant such action, the official is also remanded to the proper authorities for trial before a court.

Rape Accuser Charged with Attempted Murder, Arson

Remember the name Crystal Gale Mangum?  If not, surely you remember the 2006 Duke Lacrosse rape scandal.  She’s the one that accused three members of the Duke lacrosse team of locking her in a bathroom, sexually assaulting and raping her.

Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty, and David Evans were indicted on charges, thrown off the lacrosse team and wrongly convicted in the court of public opinion.  Now it appears that she is getting her comeuppance:

Durham police arrested Duke lacrosse accuser Crystal Gale Mangum, 33, late Wednesday after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, set his clothes on fire in a bathtub and threatened to stab him.

Authorities charged her with attempted first-degree murder, five counts of arson, assault and battery, communicating threats, three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, injury to personal property, identity theft and resisting a public officer.

Lock her up and throw away the key.  “Good riddance to bad rubbish.”

Kercher Murder Trial Update: Defendants make final pleas

15330174
Victim, Meredith Kercher

Meredith Kercher

Breaking  from Sky News:  Amanda Knox has made her final statement in the Meredith Kercher murder trial.  Speaking in a trembling voice and in Italian, Amanda said she feared ”having the mask of a killer forced onto my skin”.

She also said she was confident her conscience was clean, and thanked the prosecution for the job they’re doing. “I want to thank the accusers because they are only trying to do their job even if they don’t understand,” Knox said.

Maria del Grosso, Knox’s defense attorney, said, “This theory of sexual violence demands strong evidence and what does the prosecutor bring? That Amanda murdered because Meredith didn’t like the fact she did not flush the toilet and that Amanda was an adulteress.”

Amanda has been described as punctual, a good student, extrovert, supportive, someone who enjoyed music and sport, yoga and many other interests.”

Earlier, Raffaele Sollecito testified in his defense that he was not a violent person and never had been.  He said, “Why would I want to commit something so horrible as murder?  I want to understand why I would participate in this murder for no motive. I am not a dog on a lead and I am not dependent on Amanda as the prosecution say.”

Knox, 21, and Sollecito, 25, have been charged with murder and sexual assault.  The prosecution is asking for life sentences for both defendants.

It’s really sad that someone so promising as Ms. Kercher was taken from this world at such a young age and in such a brutal manner.  My heart and prayers go out to her family.  I’m also praying for justice to be done in this case.  I would hate to see Knox and Sollecito, if they truly are innocent, to wind up with a life sentence in jail.  However, I would equally hate to see murderers go free.  I’m praying the jury in this case will weigh all the evidence and render a just verdict.

The jury has retired to deliberate the case, and a verdict is expected within the next 48 hours.

Is Amanda Knox innocent?

On November 2, 2007, Meredith Kercher, a British student from the University of Leeds studying abroad in Perugia, Italy, was found stabbed to death in a shared apartment.  For two years, the prosecution has been trying to tie two other students — Amanda Knox from Seattle, Washington, and Raffaele Sollecito from Giovinazzo, Bari, Italy — to the murder.  Rudy Guede, 20, from the Ivory Coast,  was arrested after fleeing to Germany and has been found guilty in the murder of Kercher.

The trial for Knox and Sollecito started on 16 January 2009.  Rudy Guede, who was a close friend of Knox and Sollecito, declined to testify in the trial.   Knox testified for the first time in June, saying that she was innocent and was at Sollecito’s flat on the night of the murder.  For a more extensive history on the trial, see this Wikipedia article.

According to the prosecution, Knox and Sollecito’s modus operandi was a sex game turned deadly.  According to Speigel Online, Kercher was upset that Knox had brought home the two men — Guede and Sollecito — something Knox had apparently done before.  An argument broke out between the two women over the differences in lifestyle.  (Kercher is described as an “innocent angel”, one that wasn’t prone to bring home strange men and be promiscuous).

This is how the prosecutor’s animated film depicts the murder: Kercher falls to the floor and the three others begin to undress her. Kercher struggles, Sollecito pulls out his pocketknife and Knox gets a knife from the kitchen. Guede tries to rape Kercher, Sollecito injures her and Knox finally kills her by slitting her throat. The three flee the apartment. Later, Knox and Sollecito return to clumsily stage a burglary and wipe away their fingerprints.

The indictment against the two is based on circumstantial evidence and very little, if any, witness testimony.  The defense is arguing that there is no clear proof, no confession, and no motive.  The verdict is supposed to be announced at the end of this week.

Maurice Clemmons, Cop Killer, fatally shot by cops

Maurice Clemmons, the thug that executed four Lakewood, Washington officers, has been shot and killed by Seattle police.  As a Christian, I regret the fact that Clemmons’ soul is more than likely lost and he’s in hell right now.  (As an aside, I refuse to post pictures of thugs and terrorists on my blog.  If you want to see what these degenerates look like, go to the news sites.  I will post pictures of the victims, though, as I did yesterday - out of respect and remembrance of the lives they led.)

However, from a “judicial” standpoint, I only have two words:  Good riddance.

If you want to read more on the story, go here.

For more on the police officers that lost their lives in the line of duty, go here.  I am continuing to pray for the families during this time of loss and mourning.  May God pour out His blessings on you and give you peace.

In tribute to the fallen officers, here’s a poem from Alfred, Lord Tennyson:

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
  Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
  And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
  When I embark;

For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

Officers Slain in Seattle — UPDATE: Suspect Not in Home

Officer Ronald Owens, 37.

UPDATE (9:45 a.m.):  Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says that the suspect was not in the home they surrounded…More as the story develops.

Four police officers from the Seattle suburb of Lakewood were slain Sunday when they were attacked unprovoked at a local coffee shop.  The four officers are:

renningerSergeant Mark Renninger, 39, with 13 years of law enforcement experience.  He is survived by a wife and three children.

owens

Officer Ronald Owens, 37, with 12 years of law enforcement experience.  He is survived by a former wife and a daughter.

griswoldOfficer Tina Griswold, 40, with 14 years of law enforcement experience.   She is survived by her husband and two children.

richardsOfficer Greg Richards, 42, with 8 years of law enforcement experience.  He is survived by a wife and three children.

Michelle Malkin has been covering this story extensively, and so has The Other McCain.  My prayers are with these families.

Nine children were rendered parentless by a soul-less thug in less than five minutes.  The police have surrounded a house in Seattle with the cop killer inside — word is he’s wounded and possibly dead.  I hope it’s the former and not the latter.   This guy — Maurice Clemmons - deserves to suffer tremendously for what he’s done.

But then again, if he’s dead, he’s already burning.

Clemmons has a long, long rap sheet — one that goes back all the way to Arkansas when Mike Huckabee was governor.  MM has the whole backstory on this guy, as well as Huck’s unnecessary commutations and clemencies that resulted in Clemmons being set free…If his 95-year sentence had not been commuted, it’s very possible this shooting would never have taken place.

KSP: Kentucky Census Worker Committed Suicide

I haven’t blogged about this story at all in the past.  It has been widely covered by other conservative bloggers, namely Michelle Malkin, Robert Stacy McCain, and Dan Riehl.  It has also created a firestorm of liberal vs. conservative comments and posts:  Sites like the Daily Kos, Huffington Post, and The Daily Dish took every opportunity to blame this on extreme right-wingers, anti-government folks, and even some talk show hosts and bloggers (i.e., Glenn Beck and MM).  Now, whether they will ever admit it or not, these bloggers are coming out with egg on their faces.

With that said, the Kentucky State Police investigation — aided by the FBI — has concluded the census worker, Bill Sparkman, staged his own death to appear like a homicide — one that would lead investigators and reporters to believe it was a murderer with strong anti-federal-government leanings.  Turns out it was the “victim” who was the perpetrator of the crime.  Full details are here.

Michelle Malkin in particular took some pretty nasty hits during all of this, especially from Andrew Sullivan.  Her coverage is here and here.  Michelle truly is the shining example of a professional in her field.  Mr. Stacy McCain, from what I’ve read, actually did some reporting from Kentucky and was able to get more of the story.  He’s even compiled a list of those who blamed the conservatives for Sparkman’s death.

Because of this firestorm, I have truly learned which sites are best avoided.  Of course, the Daily Kos and HuffPo are to be avoided without question.  But Little Green Footballs and the Daily Dish are also on the blacklist.  These are sites which once touted they were conservative, but have for a while now been wolves in sheep’s clothing.  So if you go to those sites, tread very carefully and do your research.
