Michael Savage Banned from UK — Who will be next?

Michael Savage, host of The Savage Nation, has been banned from Great Britain for — wait for it — being a “controversial daily talk radio host”.

This is what Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said about the situation:

Coming to this country is a privilege.  If you can’t live by the rules that we live by, the standards and the values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what’s more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded.

Just to give you some perspective, here’s some others who are on the ban list (after the fold):

The descriptions are per the UK Home Office website.  If you have ever listened to Michael’s show, you absolutely know that their description is false, disingenuous, and libelous.  He has never provoked others to serious criminal acts nor does he “foster hatred which might lead to inter-community violence.”  Sure, he can be boisterous, but it is mostly for the ratings (although there is some disgust there towards our current society and situation).  All of the others on this list have carried out actual acts of violence or have openly embraced acts of violence against groups of people and should be on the list.

My question is:  Why isn’t Kim Jong-Il, Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ayman Al-Zawahiri and Osama bin Laden on this list?  If you have Michael Savage on the list, why not Jeremiah Wright?  Bill Ayers?  Heck, why not put Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell on there also?  These folks have spewed far worse statements than Michael Savage ever has (and Ayers has actually committed terrorist acts against his own government)!

I believe this is a political stunt to get the ball rolling against conservative talk radio in earnest.  I believe this woman should be sued for defamation, and should be forced to retract Dr. Savage’s name from the list.  Who knows?  Maybe one day we average Americans will be on the “banned” list.  For the British to be so “tolerant”, this seems highly intolerant.
